Greetings, OLPH School families!
My name is Dillon Shaw Hamill. I am thrilled to join Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School as your new Principal. I am honored to be part of OLPH’s long history of learning, faith, and community.
Since 1937, OLPH has helped students succeed in their studies and grow in their faith within a community of safety, support, and academic excellence. I am excited to partner with your child as they learn and grow—both in schoolwork and as good-hearted people.
The Book of Ecclesiastes speaks to us of the value of wisdom being like that of an inheritance of money. While money provides for our material comfort, wisdom secures our lives in obedience to God (Ecclesiastes 7:11-13). As a parent, you bless OLPH with the trust to educate your child; not only in facts and figures, but also in making good choices, being kind, and finding God’s meaning in everything we do.
I would like to take a moment to thank Father N. Cottrill and the Office of Education with the Diocese of Raleigh for this tremendous opportunity. I would also like to thank Mrs. Judy Lutz and Mrs. Amy Yencho for their excellent leadership during this time of transition. To our OLPH teachers, I am grateful for your continued hard work and selflessness as you instruct our students and help them discover God’s gifts in their lives.
At OLPH School, we know that true happiness comes from knowing God loves us. As a parent of an OLPH student, I am closely aware of how special this community is. Together with teachers, parents, staff, students, and community members, I look forward to cultivating an environment where all feel welcome, valued, and successful.
