Reading with Chief, “Canines For Therapy”

We are excited to welcome Chief to our school as part of the “Canines For Therapy” Program. This program is dedicated to improving the reading skills of children using a registered therapy team (a trained volunteer and his/her pet) as mentors.

Mr. Wayne Kleven and his dog, Chief, will work with groups and individual students in elementary school in the 2023-2024 school year. Students will have the opportunity to work with Mr. Kleven and Chief on a select day for a few minutes each week. There is no charge for this program

A permission form is required for students to be able to participate in the program with Chief and Mr. Kleven. Elementary students brought home a permission slip. Please contact the school office if you have questions or need additional information.
